Kaho Hung’s New Year Playlist

Heading into the Year of the Snake, Kaho Hung is all about good vibes and seizing the day. A masterful crooner who’s handy with a pulsing beat, the Cantopop artist had a productive 2024—from hit singles and a sophomore album Inner l Child to a date at the Hong Kong Coliseum. His feel-good playlist is a collection of songs he’s enjoyed throughout the year and features Cantopop stars like Panther Chan, MC Cheung Tinfu and Dear Jane—plus a generous helping of K-pop. He also picks five of his own songs, which he recommends in seasonally appropriate fashion. “If this year didn’t go well, you can start fresh and ‘Cleansed’ [‘洗面’] for the coming one,” he tells Apple Music. “But don’t worry if nothing makes you happy. You can always ‘Take It Out on Me’ [‘跟你分擔失落比較快樂’].” Hung’s seasonal celebrations are coloured with local tradition. “I take a drive up Tai Mo Shan for good luck,” he says, referring to how city-dwellers brave the cold to ring in the new year from Hong Kong’s highest peak. He adds, “May you all have health and success in 2025.”
