Li Yuchun (better known by her stage name Chris Lee) has released more than 50 hit singles, making her one of China's most successful female vocalists. She began to gain international acclaim after winning an all-girl singing talent contest in China in 2005, and then garnering 1.37 million in sales for her 2006 debut album, The Queen and the Dreams. Her voice is mellow and often found tenderly flowing over acoustic tracks and sad romantic ballads, but Yuchun's honeyed vocals also complement more upbeat genres, like rap, R&B and high-octane dance numbers.
