Natasha Khan, known as Bat for Lashes, became an overnight indie darling with her first LP. 2006's Fur and Gold sounded more like the work of a seasoned songwriter than a newcomer, showcasing an eclectic mix of dream pop and baroque influences, as well as Khan's haunting vocals and gorgeous, sweeping melodies. She's since experimented with complex soundscapes on 2009's Two Suns, a philosophical fable for which she invented an alter ego, and stripped her music down to the raw emotions on 2012's The Haunted Man - all while remaining one of the most compelling voices around.
