Johan Ullén

About Johan Ullén

Johan Ullén is active as both a pianist and a composer, with a wide repertory notable for tango and contemporary music. He gained an audience in his home country and beyond thanks to a stint as artist-in-residence at Swedish Radio. In 2002, Ullén made his recording debut as a pianist, issuing a performance of the Piano Concerto No. 2 of Melcher Melchers. Ullén's music has been performed internationally, and several of his works have received dozens of performances. Ullén's Dark Triad for solo cello was featured on a 2020 release by cellist Kati Raitinen, and in 2021, his "Re:Composed" treatments of Bach violin concertos were performed by violinist Christian Svarfvar on the album Infinite Bach.
