In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first musical memory was hearing my mom sing, which she did all the time as she is an opera singer. She would sing me lullabies every night and then practice during the day. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A Tribe Called Quest, A Tribe Called Quest: The Anthology Madlib, Shades of Blue: Madlib Invades Blue Note Slum Village, Fan-Tas-Tic, Vol. 2 I have listened to those 3 albums countless times and never get bored of them. Dilla and Madlib are 2 of my biggest idols. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Camberwell (feat. Alfa Mist)” It was an incredible experience working with Alfa Mist, who has been a massive inspiration to me. We spent one day in his studio and made 3 tracks, everything went really smooth. He is just an incredibly talented and humble guy. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing a gig in Japan where everyone in the audience was totally in the zone and enjoying the music. Also playing at the legendary Jazz Cafe in London as well as supporting Alfa Mist and Makaya McCraven in Cologne. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My next goal is to play some shows in the US, in New York and Los Angeles for example. I would also love to collaborate with or support a show of someone like Madlib or Robert Glasper.
