A grave figure from the start, Richie Havens released this set of folk covers and elegant originals shortly after his career-making Woodstock set. With its strings and chimes, "Ring Around the Moon" reveals his mystical side, while the jaunty "Tiny Little Blues" unfurls woozy bluegrass. Havens takes a playful turn at Dylan's "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" and finds sincere sweetness in the Bee Gees' "I Started a Joke". "Shouldn't All the World Be Dancing" closes with eight minutes of jazz-inflected psychedelic folk.
