A self-described "Thatcher-era" band, Brooklyn four-piece Hints play a thoughtful brand of guitar pop that mixes the sunny wistfulness of Real Estate with the dark new wave of '80s bands like Felt, the Church, and the Cure. Formed in 2011 by friends Collin Lewis, Garrett Morin, J. Ellis, and Wyeth Hansen, they have released a series of short, two-song EPs simply titled Vol. I (2012), Vol. II (2012), and Vol. III (2013). ~ Timothy Monger
