As one of Sweden's first wave of punk bands in the ‘70s, The Clash-influenced Ebba Grön possessed all the raw energy and attitude of the era. Led by Joakim Thåström, a.k.a. Pimme, they'd go on to cover a famous track by left-wing Swedes Blå Tåget, renaming the song "Staten & Kapitalet" and stamping it with their anti-capitalist ideals. Although still well known for their controversial lyrics, Ebba Grön gradually distanced themselves from punk, becoming more of an alternative rock outfit as the ‘80s rolled on—but the fire inside never dimmed.
