Ling Kai

Throaty yet ethereal, Ling Kai is a bilingual singer-songwriter with unique musicianship. Kai debuted in 2008 when she uploaded original song “Larkin Step” to an overwhelming online reception, and went on to prove a versatile songsmith. Her English-language tracks are infused with uplifting folk rock, while Mandarin tracks such as “已经忘了 (We Forget)” show a darker, more vulnerable side with sensitive yet avant-garde soundscapes. Kai gained a top spot on Chinese songwriting competition Sing My Song in 2014, cementing her status as a singer-songwriter extraordinaire.
