Germany's Can never made it to classic rock radio, but their furious psychedelia and relentless rhythms influenced generations of artists outside their home country. Their pliant grooves powered tracks from LCD Soundsystem's party-starter “On Repeat” to Kanye West's debaucherous “Drunk and Hot Girls”. Even post-punkers found plenty to emulate, as when The Fall's Mark E. Smith yipped “I Am Damo Suzuki”.
