Patricia Giovanna Cantú Velasco was raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she learned guitar and piano, began creating melodies aged six and wrote her first song at 14. These formative musical years eventually blossomed into a career when Paty Cantú debuted alongside Mario Sandoval as part of the pop duo Lu in 2004, and went solo with the single “Déjame Ir” four years later. From the poetic lyricism of “La Mexicana” to playful kiss-off anthem “Si Yo Fuera Tú”, the pop icon has been defined by her vivid vocals, genre-shifting creativity and an innate gift for storytelling.
