More like an intermittent stage invasion than a band, Fly My Pretties is a morphing collaborative project designed by the Black Seeds' Barnaby Weir and Wellington studio guy Mikee Tucker in 2004. Their four atmospheric roots-soul albums to date have been recorded live on various stages across New Zealand with a floating cast of up to 16, featuring members of Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy's Drop, Kora, Sola Rosa, the Phoenix Foundation and tons more in highly visual productions. Live At Bats, The Return and A Story (Part 1) all went platinum at home before FMP played their first, sold-out international show in Melbourne in 2011. The Homeland Recordings followed in 2013 to much acclaim.
