Cutting their teeth in groups like Nervy and Gruppa Skryptonite, the duo behind bludkidd already had an arsenal of punchy sounds before the band’s inception. Re-energised, they released a string of indie rock singles—including a joint track with rapper-producer Scriptonite—before their debut album, 2021’s gonzo, appeared on the latter’s label Musica36. Angst-ridden vocals and thought-provoking lyrics are scattered across stomping, catchy choruses, heavy riffs and emo touches. But the pair also offer their take on Christmas—a bittersweet, slow-burning melody with a healthy dose of irony.
