Anitta Essentials

Born Larissa de Macedo Machado in 1993, Anitta wasted no time climbing to the top of the pop charts—including those outside her native Brazil. Viral self-made videos led to recording deals as a teen, quickly followed by a number one hit, the high-octane "Show das Poderosas", in 2013. Anitta's brassy, sultry vocals are just as captivating over tropical house beats—like in the Alesso collaboration "Is That For Me"—as percolating Latin rhythms. Performing at the 2016 Summer Olympics thrust her into the international spotlight—and it's clear she's not leaving it any time soon.
