With a sound that's suited for slow-burning intensity as well as joyously bluesy uptempo swing, veteran saxophonist Andrew Robson is a key part of Australia's vibrant contemporary jazz scene. He can be heard in his own powerful trio with bassist Steve Elphick and drummer Hamish Stuart, and in collaborative contexts that include the funk-forward group Grandmasters and the world music-influenced Mara Ensemble. He's also capable of jumping over to play other instruments (such as the descant recorder). Check out his wide-ranging skill with selections from some of his most acclaimed albums.
