About La Chapelle Harmonique

France's La Chapelle Harmonique is a historically oriented choral-orchestral group that specializes in unusual works and unusual versions of familiar works. The group focuses on oratorio and Baroque opera. La Chapelle Harmonique was founded in early 2017 by conductor and viola da gamba player Valentin Tournet. La Chapelle Harmonique experienced immediate success when it was chosen by the Friends of Royal Opera organization to perform the St. John Passion, BWV 245, of Bach at the royal chapel at Versailles Palace in March of 2017. The group made its recording debut in 2019 with a recording of Bach's Magnificat de la Nativité, BWV 243a. La Chapelle Harmonique issued a recording of Rameau's Les Paladins in 2022.
