Matthew Dear: Next Steps

Recorded under his Audion and Jabberjaw monikers as well as his own name, Matthew Dear's club productions are psychedelic parallels to his distinctive singer/songwriter work. “Noiser”, from 2007, is minimal in tone but maximal in impact, its heart-in-mouth crescendos typical of his epic approach, while “Dem Howl” finds him sinking into a deeper, moodier mode, and “Tide” is wriggly, off-kilter funk.
