David Allan Coe: Next Steps

Though David Allan Coe made his name as the ultimate outlaw-country badass, he's worn plenty of other hats over the course of his career. On the early track "Monkey David Wine", he comes off like a crazed bluesman akin to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and he later found a way to turn Dave Loggins' '70s soft-pop hit "Please Come to Boston" into a twangy, road-ready country choogler.
