Arista Records debuted in 1974 at the dawn of the disco era, and also maintained a strong line in R&B and funk, releasing hits by Ray Parker Jr., Ohio Players, Headhunters and Mandrill. Big soul stars like Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin had their careers revitalised by Arista. Even the label's big pop act, Barry Manilow, got on the disco bandwagon with his hit "Copacabana (At the Copa)".
