Skip the Use Essentials

When French punk outfit Carving called it a day, their five members regrouped to prepare for the next musical adventure as Skip the Use. Since the release of their eponymous debut album in 2009, their irreverent blend of electronic-infused funk, pop, rock and ska—often within the same song—has garnered the Ronchin five-piece much attention, as has their ability to write songs that make you dance and think at the same time. The influence of Britpop heroes Blur is undeniable in places, but this is a band who have built on that foundation to create their own identity, both live and in the studio.
