Raymond van het Groenewoud Essentials
Apple Music
It's emotional depth charges all the way from much-loved poet, philosopher and songwriter Raymond van het Groenewoud. Beginning as a guitarist for chart-topping ‘70s Belgian pop star Johan Verminnen, he later formed the band Louisette with the late Flemish singer Erik Van Neygen before moving to a solo career. His first 1977 hit single “Meisjes” is a raw, fuzzy New Wave number, while hits such as "Je Veux de l'Amour” evoke Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg at their most impassioned. The gospel track “Liefde voor Muziek" is packed with foot-tapping oomph.
