Cortex is the alias of Herman Moller, a contemporary R&B artist whose ballads are cast in the moody lothario mold of Drake, Bryson Tiller, and Tory Lanez. The Malmö-based singer released his first commercial singles in 2023 and gained wider attention across the next couple years with "Bossanova" and the likewise Brazilian-inspired "Val de Marne." The latter led Velvet Noire, a descriptively titled full-length project issued in 2025. For What It's Worth, Moller's 2026 follow-up, built more momentum with singles such as "December 10th," "Golden Boy," and "Days Are Over" demonstrating his and his fellow producers' facility for modernizing vintage R&B sounds dating back several decades.
