About Liily
Influenced by riffy, aggressive bands like Rage Against the Machine and Foals, Liily are an alt-rock combo from Los Angeles. They emerged from the city's underground youth scene in 2018 with a string of indie singles and a debut EP, then made their full-length debut with 2021's TV or Not TV. After several years of touring, the group returned in 2024 with a self-titled EP. Formed by singer Dylan Nash, guitarist Sam De La Torre, bassist Charlie Anastasis, and drummer Maxx Morando, Liily hail from various parts of the San Fernando Valley and Inland Empire. After a few years of honing their sound at Los Angeles house parties and warehouses, the four teenagers made their official debut in August 2018 with the single "Toro." The grungy rocker "Sold" followed shortly afterward, and both songs were later included on the band's first EP, I Can Fool Anybody in This Town, which was released in March 2019 by Hollywood indie Flush Records. A stand-alone single, "Wash," also arrived that September. After wrapping up sessions for their debut album, Liily spent the front half of 2021 issuing a succession of singles that led up to the October release of the more diverse and stylistically eclectic TV or Not TV. By this point, Liily had built up a veteran presence, appearing at major festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and touring throughout Europe and North America. They issued a stand-alone single, "Applause," in late 2022, then returned in May 2024 with "More," the lead single from their self-titled EP. ~ Timothy Monger
