Born in East London and raised on a varied sonic diet of reggae, pop and gospel, Jvck James first fell for the rush of being onstage aged nine, at his grandmother’s birthday. Since then he has honed his craft, penning songs and creating covers, before dropping his first single in 2017. Fuelled in equal part by the evocative rhythms of old-school R&B and the emotive heart of the church chorus, he pairs addictive melodies with a lyrical ear for the vices that make us tick. Carried by the potent energy of his liquid vocals, this mix of bittersweet verses and haunting beats glitters in the dark.
