About Lorraine Campet

The double bass rarely takes center stage, but Lorraine Campet has redefined its role. She studied bass and violin at Paris' Conservatoire and earned another degree in Mannheim. Campet claimed first prizes at the Leopold Bellan and Amsterdam Double Bass competitions in 2014, later earning honors at the Festival Musical d'Automne in 2017. Former associate principal bassist with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (2015–2022), she joined the Paris Opera Orchestra in 2024 and has performed with leading ensembles and conductors worldwide. In 2025, she released Âmes sœurs, featuring works by Schubert, Schumann, and Josephine Lang, arranged by Campet as duets with pianist Nathanaël Gouin.
