Best of '70s Power Pop

Drawing heavily from the '60s pop-rock catalogue, the power-pop bands of the '70s merged guitar drive and vocal harmony with a sound that hewed between Top 40 and new wave. The Raspberries were among the first to be labelled as power pop, but Cheap Trick and The Knack scored the biggest hits. For many, the critically lauded but commercially ignored Big Star were the period's defining power pop band.
