The amazing thing about New Wave was the way that the music always found its audience. Some New Wave singles by acts like Devo, Haircut 100, Katrina & The Waves and Madness, hit the pop charts and gained MTV exposure. Other acts - as varied as Gleaming Spires, Altered Images and Orange Juice - travelled by word of mouth and mixtape. Either way, these singles remain timeless.
