Founded in Denver but relocated to Athens, Georgia, Elephant 6 was both a label and an artistic collective. Taking a lo-fi, underground approach, they filtered ‘60s psychedelic influences through the prism of mid-‘90s indie rock, launching the careers of several cult favourites in the process, including Apples in Stereo, Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel and Of Montreal.
