In ambient music, tools—synths, guitars, voices—are secondary to results. Fennesz's "Static Kings" is a swirl of jazz drumming and shoegaze strumming, while Dolphins Into The Future's "Memory Of Self" incorporates aquatic field recordings, and Christopher Bissonnette's "A Touch of Heartbreak" resembles a choir in a long, dark tunnel. They all share a quiet sense of wide-eyed wonder.
