English cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason has a lot to look forward to this summer, including appearing in a bunch of concerts with friends across Europe and in the US and spending time in London. To celebrate the season, the musician created a special playlist that showcases some of his favourite tracks. “There are some old favourites that I have loved for a long time, as well as new releases and discoveries for me which I’m excited to share on this playlist,” he tells Apple Music. “For example, a movement from Brahms’ Cello Sonata in E minor featuring beautifully intimate and detailed playing from Steffan Morris and Alasdair Beatson, as well as recordings of The London Haydn Quartet performing some of my favourite music ever. Haydn’s quartets never fail to make me smile, laugh, cry and learn something.”
