

Whether using sparse acoustic guitar and piano or introducing elements of electronic sound, Koji Tamaki explores the intimacy of romance in his slow-burning songs. He developed his slow, sweet style as the lead singer of the ballad-focused band Anzen Chitai in the ‘80s. He then set off on a solo career making music even more stripped down and every bit as successful as his band's, highlighted by the 1996 song “Denen.” His work feels like glowing love letters written to a longtime partner.
