About Sunny Sweeney

Texas native Sunny Sweeney is brassy country singer whose retro style and expressive, reedy alto is perfectly suited for honky tonk, country-rock, and bluegrass. Her 2006 debut Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame won critical notice across the U.S. 2011's Concrete hit the Top 200. 2014's Provoked, a rootsier honky tonk set, cracked the Top 20 on the country albums list. 2017's Trophy was more introspective and moody; it placed on the folk and indie charts. Bob Seger personally invited her to open his farewell tour in 2019. Sweeney returned to studio recording in 2022 with Married Alone. In August of 2024 in celebration of the ten-year anniversary of Provoked, she issued Still Provoked, wherein she reimagined all 13 songs from the original album and recut them alongside a new single, "My Own Lane.". In August 2025, she released Rhinestone Requiem, a back-to-honky-tonk collection.
