Jimmy Eat World: Deep Cuts

Jimmy Eat World: Deep Cuts

Jimmy Eat World's early-'90s work hewed toward scrappy emo-punk, as heard on buoyant, blistering nuggets like "Seventeen”. The band's subsequent output, however, expanded to include brisk, acoustic-based indie ("Book of Love"), chiming pop ("Chase This Light") and melancholy, piano-driven rock ("It Matters"). The slow-building "Drugs or Me" even finds the group taking on a gentle post-rock lullaby, complete with twinkling strings.
