Playback singer, lyricist, screenwriter, composer, director, producer—there are very few hats Vishal Bhardwaj hasn’t worn. Starting out as a musician in Indian theatre and TV dramas, he progressed to films in 1996, composing the critically acclaimed score for Maachis. Having turned his hand to directing, he also produced haunting soundtracks for his trilogy of Shakespearean adaptations, Omkara, Maqbool and Haider.
