Avicii is a master of dance-music earworms. He can write a twinkling pop jam, a wide-screen fist pumper or a tuneful ballad unlike any EDM producer—and he shows off that prowess on AVĪCI (01). On “Lonely Together”, Rita Ora delivers gorgeously round, melodic lines over a lush bed of plinking synths. And on “What Would I Change It To”, AlunaGeorge’s Aluna Francis brings bouncing coos to a gentle acoustic number that, if not for its insistent kick drum, would hardly qualify as a dance track at all. Avicii's full pop crossover is all but complete.
