Formed by former work colleagues Alexander Vasilyev and Alexander Morozov—who met while trying to make ends meet at a theatre—Splean came to prominence with their 1994 debut, Dusty Fact. Since then, they've become one of Russia's most beloved and lasting alt-rock bands, dominating the Russian musical landscape with a sound driven mainly by taut rhythms and lucid guitars. Never a group to stand still, Splean has evolved and made tweaks to their music with each album, incorporating ambient and electronic elements into their songs.
