Belarusian rockers Lyapis Trubetskoy, led by frontman and founder Siarhei Mikhalok, dominated the Russian charts with their ska-punk sound. Mikhalok, along with a revolving array of bandmates, managed the difficult balancing act of attaining commercial success while retaining credibility within the punk community. Rambunctious basslines, beefy guitar riffs and tight, brassy choruses fuel their sound, while lyrically, they walk a line between the political and personal. Despite awards and acclaim, they disbanded while still at the top of their game, on their 25th anniversary.
