About Entrain
This jam band from Martha's Vineyard was formed by drummer Tom Major in 1993. Other personnel include guitarist/lead vocalist Brian Alex; conga, djembe, and trombone player Sam Holmstock; bassist Ned "Towering Inferno" Nugent; conga player Hilary Noble; and Klem Klimek on the saxophone. This multifaceted ensemble unites to produce music that melds a number of styles, from funk to klezmer, creating a kind of ethnic and musicological soup onstage. Entrain reaches across more genres than most jam bands, but still manage to have an improvisational quality to their music. Their live show is what really shines, but they have released several albums, including Can U Get It, No Matter What, and 2000's All One. ~ Stacia Proefrock
