Type O Negative Essentials

Type O Negative Essentials

Metal band Type O Negative practically defined goth culture in the ‘90s. Their rueful songs explored theatrical themes of love and death, with charismatic frontman Peter Steele commanding attention via his deep bass voice, six foot six frame, and long, flowing locks. The group explored musical influences ranging from punk to garage rock in their metal sound. Steele tragically passed away in 2010, after nearly 20 years with the band fans dubbed “The Drab Four”. Without their vital lead singer, the remaining members released a statement saying that Type O Negative would not continue playing.
