Traffic: Influences

Traffic made groovy cosmic ‘60s pop, melding elements of folk and R&B, while using the psychedelic muse of Donovan to guide their way. Absorbing both the loose swagger of The Rolling Stones and tight harmonic structure of The Move, their jazzy percussive grooves owed a debt to Yusef Lateef, while Hubert Laws and Roland Kirk inspired the winsome, exploratory flute of Chris Wood.
