The Organ left an indelible mark on Vancouver's ‘00s indie scene, creating intense, shadowy, ‘80s-inspired New Wave and post-punk for the 21st century. Singer Katie Sketch's romantic wail dominates the band's fevered art pop on “Brother”, with its driving bassline and deliciously simple beat, and she pushes their sound to dramatic heights over buzzy organ and sparkling, trebly guitar throughout their only full-length, Grab That Gun. It's no surprise that the fiery band responsible for these breathtaking, angst-filled tunes burned out—but their songs continue to blaze.
