Suede Essentials

Formed in London in 1989, Suede had built up a fervent following even before they had released a record which led to the Melody Maker describing them as "the best new band in Britain". Widely cited as the catalyst for Britpop, Suede's Bowie-esque glam and literate angsty songs were deemed the perfect riposte to the prevalent U.S.-led grunge that was dominating the U.K. indie scene. After a hiatus Suede reformed in 2010, releasing a well-received comeback album in 2013.
