Masia One Essentials

Masia One Essentials

That reggae ingenue Masia One (often stylized as MAS1A) is based in the Asian melting pot of Singapore is perfectly apt—her bold, bombastic style manages to wrap up a whole continent's worth of influences. The singer first released the grooving, soulful Mississigua back in 2003, but things truly heated up with 2010's fiery future-reggae cut "In di Streets" with Vybz Machine. Bootleg Culture followed in 2012 and saw Masia One shoulder-to-shoulder with Wu-Tang Clan legend RZA on the gritty "Major Masia". This list is a cruise through Carribean rhythms, hard-hitting hip-hop and rattling pop.
