Brooklyn's Kathy Troccoli became one of the most recognisable voices in contemporary Christian music during the '80s and '90s. Featuring soulful singing over eclectic instrumentation and pristine pop production, landmark albums such as 1991's Pure Attraction and 1994's self-titled follow-up found her crossing over to the U.S. pop charts on many occasions, though she returned to her gospel roots for a string of successful projects well into the '00s.
