At the Drive-In Essentials

Intense, chaotic and destructive, At the Drive-In's shows established them as standouts in the Texas post-hardcore scene in the ‘90s. On record, however, ATDI went beyond the mayhem, with 1996's Acrobatic Tenement and 1998's In/Casino/Out highlighting unconventional rhythms and complex guitar arrangements. These elements were distilled and polished on 2000's Relationship of Command, a landmark post-hardcore LP that launched ATDI into prominence—and also led to their demise in 2001. The band reunited for one-off shows in 2012, fittingly closing the book onstage.
