About Nicholas Collon

Conductor Nicholas Collon co-founded and served as artistic director of the Aurora Orchestra, an ensemble known for its innovative presentation and programming. His fresh approach has led to posts with major orchestras in his native Britain and abroad. Collon's recording debut came in 2003 as organist on a Choir of Clare College, Cambridge recording of John Rutter's Requiem. His first recording as a conductor came with the Aurora Orchestra in 2008, backing clarinetist David Campbell on a recording of works by Gerald Finze, Graham Fitkin, and Carl Davis. In 2022, he issued his first recording with the Finnish National Radio Orchestra, featuring Sibelius' Symphony No. 7 in C major, Op, 105. He and the orchestra returned in 2023 with an album of music by Lotta Wennäkoski.
