About Kevin Henry

After nearly a decade of doing the solo, acoustic, club circuit throughout the Midwest and Florida, singer-songwriter Kevin Henry began work in 1992 on a musical adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's adventure fantasy The Hobbit. Throughout the next several years, he performed the completed piece with various members of his revolving Warm Weather Band, fine-tuning and rewriting along the way. Finally, in 1999, Henry went into the studio with a handful of these players, as well as a few others, to record what would become Bilbo's Great Adventure. The finished product contains 24 folk and folk/country based songs, retelling the story in what are primarily his own words, rarely using those of the author. The record, his first, was released in January 2000 on his own Warm Weather Music Company label. Henry continues to perform, both solo and with the Warm Weather Band. ~ Brett Hartenbach
