Drawing Boards

About Drawing Boards

A Queens-based indie pop quartet who merge lush tones and noisy textures, Drawing Boards grew out of a recording partnership between singer/guitarist Aaron Pfannebecker (Sisters) and singer/drummer Doug Marvin (Dirty on Purpose). Citing the shared influences of R.E.M., Television's Marquee Moon, and the novels of Joan Didion and Jenny Offill, the duo set about recording their own brand of melodic, nostalgic, and occasionally biting guitar pop. They eventually recruited guitarist Peter Rynsky (Darlings) and bassist Jane Herships (Teen) to complete their quartet and began gigging around New York. Drawing Boards' self-titled debut arrived in March 2018 via Baltimore indie Gentle Reminder. ~ Timothy Monger
