About Dax Riggs
A crucial figure in the Southern branch of the extreme metal community, Dax Riggs was the lead vocalist with the pioneering sludge metal band Acid Bath, who broke up in 1997. After fronting the short-lived Daisyhead & the Mooncrickets, Riggs re-emerged with the relatively subdued Agents of Oblivion, who released one album in 2000. His next band, Deadboy & the Elephantmen, sported a stripped-down, blues-based sound; as Riggs was recording their third album, he opted to abandon the group moniker and use his own name. Featuring some of Riggs' most powerful and emotionally incisive music to date, We Sing of Only Blood or Love was released in 2007. Say Goodnight to the World, recorded in Riggs' home studio, followed in 2010. ~ Mark Deming
