About Christina Saffran Ashford

Broadway diva Christina Saffran Ashford had been blessed with an excellent voice at a young age. Discovering her talents early, she joined the St. Louis Municipal Opera at the age of nine. It was here that she polished her stage abilities and worked her way up to a lead actress. From there she moved on to Broadway, where she scored parts in several high profile musicals. She also worked with Herbie Hancock in a live setting and hired herself out to both Disney and Warner Bros. for voiceover work on their cartoons. On top of these achievements, she is a founding member of Retinoblastoma International, which works to save the vision of children with infant eye cancer. Finally, after years of working for others, she stepped out on her own and put together Temporary Insanity, her first solo album. Made up of half originals and half covers, the record represented her theatrical background through its dramatic flourishes and ambitious approach, but it also had a firm grasp on traditional pop music as well. ~ Bradley Torreano
